Does it work on my phone?
Yes, with touch controls. But it is best on a laptop or computer, with a keyboard and mouse. Try the free 15 minutes on your device first.
What level of English do I need?
Beginners can start: click things and hear their names. The conversations go from A1 to B1. Intermediate learners will still find lots of new everyday words.
Is everything in James’s voice?
Most words and all the examples are recorded in my voice: more than 14,000 recordings. A few of the newest words use your device’s voice until I record them. The neighbours have their own voices.
Which languages are the translations in?
Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Turkish, Russian, Arabic, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. The main words have all 11. Some of the newest words have fewer for now.
Is my progress saved?
Yes, in the browser you play in. If you change device, you can export your progress and import it on the new one.
Is there a subscription?
No. You pay $19 once. Everything I add later is included.
Is it a live lesson with James?
No. Willowbrook is a game you play on your own, whenever you like. If you want a teacher, book a lesson with me.
